F.A.Q.

If you have a question pertaining to the RP, please feel free to ask here. If it is a relevant question that most should know, then we will add it to the FAQ, but we will certainly answer it either way.

Q: How will this game work?
A: The actual roleplaying can be done either in IM or in [info]facadelogs via comments. All logs must be posted in a certain structure and have the appropriate warnings attached. In addition to the logs, each character will also have a journal to post in and this journal can be seen by/replied to by every character. Also, there will be a calendar, which will keep track of any special events going on in the city, so be sure to check it every once and a while.

Q: What is this "certain structure" you mentioned?
A: There is a format you need to follow, which is listed here.

Q: How are characters supposed to post in/see the journals?
A: The journals here will act as Sidekicks. Click on image to see the original size to your character.

Characters will 'wake up' in Faciatta with the Sidekick already somewhere on their person. Their main functions are access to their personal journal, friends list, email, personal instant messenger, and of course, access to the Faciatta Messageboard posted in the center of town.

Q: What is that "Message Board" thing?
A: The main messageboard is located in the center of town, where a giant hologram image shows all things posted there. The main function of the messageboard is to post the weather. Each day, there will be a post on the weather.

Faciatta citizens also use this to post announcements of any sort, for there is no one on duty to monitor the board.

Although the main messageboard area is the center of town, it can be seen in the journals. The messageboard is only there for those who have lost their journals or do not have them on hand.

Q: My character isn't from a world that uses technology. How will s/he know how to use the Sidekick?
A: There will be a tutorial on all Sidekicks if your character is not computer savvy.

Q: How many days make up one day in Faciatta?
A: While we couldn't decide either to make this a fast moving game or not, we came to the conclusion that one in-game day will be two in-real-life days. That will make this game go at just the right speed.

There are also no day names, as in, there is no Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc etc. Everyday will be counted as numbers. For example, Day 1 will start one the day we open the game. You might want to read some of the thread summaries of those days as well, just so you know what is going on.

Q: So what happens if my character tries to just walk/fly out of Faciatta?
A: When they reach the outskirts of the city, though they can apparently see what is outside of it, they won't walk/fly any further. It will be like a barrier with the scenery digitally painted on. Think of The Truman Show's barrier, only...indestructible, kids.

Q: But my character can destroy the world/alter space and time/kick serious ass!
A: Too bad, so sad. In this world, The Superior controls the digital construct, and that means in certain areas, your characters' powers are useless.

Q: But my character can keep their powers?
A: Yes. They just won't be able to teleport out.

Q: Will my character be able to tell that Faciatta isn't real?
A: No. At least not yet. It will feel real to them. They will get hungry, they will get sleepy, they will even have to go to the bathroom. Reality is only what you make of it.

Q: What's the currency?
A: Munny. You do need to pay for stuff here, so your character will need a job to earn the munny.

Q: My character isn't the type to get a job. Do they have to?
A: No, obviously... But if they don't want to be sleeping on the street, then they'll either need to get a decent job, pick pockets, or know someone who has munny and is willing to shack them up.
